About Michael Seward


I have been representing buyers and sellers in the Pioneer Valley since 2003. Prior to that I was an independent disaster relief home inspector under contract to FEMA for about a year after several years as an archaeologist. I take great pride in the fact that I always put my clients' interests first with integrity and unparalleled customer service. 

I started Michael Seward Real Estate in 2017 after over 14 years serving the Pioneer Valley working for other agencies, including as the broker of record for a legacy Amherst real estate agency.  My real estate agency offers a better value for less, because today's technology has made it less expensive to market and sell a home. I believe that the right thing to do is to pass those savings onto the consumer.   Licensed salespersons must work for a broker with whom they share an agency's commission. Home sellers save money by working with the broker of Michael Seward Real Estate.   I also offer a dual-rate commission structure of 4%, or 3% if I manage the transaction as a dual agent for additional savings. 

Although I provide the best real estate marketing around, I am also a highly experienced and knowledgeable real estate broker. My numerous professional designations include the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist, which less than 3% of all REALTORS® nationwide have earned. I am also Green Certified by the National Association of Realtors, a Certified New Homes Specialist, a Certified Buyers Representative, and a Loss Mitigation Specialist. While most real estate agents are licensed salespersons, I am a licensed broker. This is in addition to a Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in anthropology. You get a higher level of skill, integrity, and professionalism for less when you work with me. That means getting your home sold at a higher price and a smoother transaction for you.

My seller clients benefit from internet marketing expertise. The internet is where home buyers find the house they purchase. One of the benefits of listing your home is my narrated video tours. My video tours include aerial footage, as I have recently earned the FAA certificate required to use drones for commercial purposes. 

Michael Seward Real Estate also offers buyer representation. I take my fiduciary duties to my clients seriously. As such, I make sure that my buyer clients are aware of all the homes that are available for sale. Even though all properties listed with other agents are available online, I have seen agents steer their buyer clients away from certain listings for selfish reasons. This includes a low commission fee that a seller's agent has agreed to share with a buyers' agent, known as a co-broke fee. This is how buyers' agents are paid. My advice to my clients is never determined by how it benefits me. My clients always come first.
